MADISON, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man is dead after he was hit by a CSX freight train Monday night in Madison, officials said.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), the collision happened just after 9:30 p.m. across the street from the 80 block of East Campbell Road on Monday, Aug. 5.

Officials said the video from the train showed the man sitting on the railroad tracks before he was hit. The train's operator reportedly told law enforcement that they tried to warn the man but he made no attempts to get out of the way.
The pedestrian has not been identified. No other information about the incident was immediately released.
