LEBANON, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Lebanon Police Department apprehended a man wanted for rape out of Edison, New Jersey following a tip from the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP).
In a Facebook post, the department said that the THP alerted them to the suspect after a license plate reader indicated that he may be in the area.
"Officers promptly began canvassing the area and soon located the suspect's vehicle near the Mapco on Murfreesboro Rd," the post read, in part. "After confirming extradition with dispatch, the suspect was arrested without incident."
The department did not identify the suspect. News 2 has reached out to the Edison, New Jersey Police Department for more information.
