When firefighters arrived, they said they saw "smoke and visible flames" coming from the building and broken glass from the business on the ground.

The flames were extinguished and no injuries were reported, officials said. At the scene, the store's owner told News 2 that he has owned businesses in East Nashville for about 30 years.

"Well naturally I'm feeling pretty rough because this is something I grew for years up, bringing it up, and I think it's totaled but we have insurance so we'll see what happens," said store owner Robert Holt.

Holt said he has run the furniture store for around five years and it recently experienced vandalism.

"I think we'll be OK," said Holt. "I have strength in the Lord so whatever happens happens and I'm good with that."

Fire investigators are working to determine what led to the early morning blaze. No other information was immediately released.
