NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A motorcyclist has died following a crash on Clarksville Pike Friday afternoon, the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said.
Police identified the motorcyclist as a 29-year-old Kyle Kotzen of Clarksville. A preliminary investigation showed that 76-year-old Larry James was traveling west on the road and attempted to turn left when the motorcyclist, traveling east, struck the pickup truck.
"This portion of the roadway does have a slight hill and the motorcyclist was cresting the hill prior to impact," an MNPD release read, in part. "According to a witness, James was turning at a very slow pace."
MNPD added that there was no evidence or indication of impairment at the scene. The preliminary cause of the crash, they noted, appears to be failure to yield on James' part. Investigators will attempt to determine the motorcyclist's speed.
