White County EMS, along with volunteers from agencies across the county -- which included those from the Doyle Volunteer Fire Department, Sparta Rescue Squad and Central View Volunteer Fire Department -- all responded to the state park to assist.
When crews arrived to the park, they said they found a fisherman approximately 20 feet down a bluff near the river.
A rope system was needed to rescue the fisherman who was then flown to a Nashville area hospital for treatment, officials said. The extent of fisherman's injuries are unknown.
“The coordination and seemless way our volunteers from across the county work together and alongside or partners at EMS and State Parks never ceases to amaze me,” said Central View Deputy Chief Thomas Steele.
No additional information about the rescue was immediately released.
