NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A stolen handgun, an airsoft pistol and marijuana were discovered on the campus of McGavock High School in Donelson Tuesday.
Metro police reported a 17-year-old senior was initially stopped by a school official for smoking a vape pen.
Officials then searched the student's vehicle and contacted school resource officers when marijuana was spotted in the car, according to Metro police.
Officers reportedly recovered a stolen handgun, an airsoft pistol, a scale and 79 grams of marijuana from the vehicle. According to a release, the gun had been reported stolen on July 26 from an SUV parked in a lot on Albion Street.
The unidentified student was charged in juvenile court with drug possession with intent to sell, weapon possession on school property and theft of a firearm.
No additional information was immediately released.
