MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Mt. Juliet Police Department (MJPD) credited their Guardian Shield system for playing "a key role" in the arrest of a suspect accused of stealing a credit card.

MJPD said in a post to X, formerly Twitter, that the suspect used a stolen credit card to buy nearly $3,000 in gift cards for BJ's Wholesale. MJPD said that the store was able to provide a detailed vehicle description, meaning that the car was added to their "hotlist."

Once the car was added to the list, the system reportedly alerted officers to the suspect as they drove through Mt. Juliet. Officers were able to intercept the vehicle on Mt. Juliet Road near Woodridge Place and arrested a 31-year-old Nashville man.

That man was "found with multiple stolen credit cards and pieces of mail," MJPD added. MJPD detectives are investigating this arrest in connection to other Nashville-area crimes.
