FRANKLIN COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Members of multiple fire departments battled a blaze at the Tyson plant in a Franklin County town that left one person injured Saturday.
According to the Estill Springs Police Department, a grain truck was unloading at the plant on Saturday, Aug. 31, triggering a "dust explosion" beneath the truck that extended into the grain hopper, which leads into the on-site grain silo. Then, the fire traveled up the grain elevator, igniting additional grain stored in the facility.
Officials said crews quickly extinguished the blaze after the arrived. However, one person was transported to the hospital to be treated for burns.
"We extend our sincere thanks to our own fire department, as well as Capitol Hill Fire, Decherd Fire, Winchester Fire and North Franklin County Fire Departments, for their swift and coordinated response," police posted on Facebook.
No additional details have been released about Saturday's fire, including how much damage it caused.
