MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — Mt. Juliet police said that a traffic stop led to the foot pursuit of a convicted felon wanted out of Memphis on Friday afternoon.
In a post to X, formerly Twitter, the Mt. Juliet Police Department said that a traffic stop on East Division Street led to the foot pursuit of a 27-year-old convicted felon wanted out of Memphis. Police said that the man took off running after an officer asked him to step out of the car due to a strong marijuana odor.

The man was apprehended on Industrial Drive, according to the post.
"K9 Citron sniffed the suspect’s run path and found a handgun and drivers license the suspect ditched," the post added.
The man was wanted for both a probation violation and failure to appear in court. He was booked into the Wilson County jail.
