NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A convicted felon was arrested on Sunday morning for allegedly strangling and raping a woman on his houseboat.
The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said that the woman was reportedly invited to a party by Tyree Watson, 42. At one point, she asked to use the bathroom on Watson's houseboat. The woman told police that Watson led her inside and locked the door.
Watson reportedly threatened to kill her and began to strangle her before he sexually assaulted her. Police said that she was able to escape when Watson fell asleep; she got help from a dock worker at Four Corners Marina on Lavergne Couchville Pike.
Watson was charged with aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault. As of publication, he is jailed in lieu of a $200,000 bond.
