Authorities reported Henderson was formerly a teachers aide at Genesis Academy, which is a private school in South Nashville for youth with learning disabilities.
In June, two 16-year-old students told a school employee that Henderson had "engaged in video calls with them depicting sexual activity," police said.
On Monday, Genesis Learning Centers issued a statement concerning Henderson's arrest, stating that he was terminated on June 24.
On June 19, 2024, Genesis received a report from an 18 year old former student and graduate about prior abuse by Henderson. Genesis followed up with the former student, made an immediate report to DCS and ensured that Henderson did not work with or have access to any current students pending an internal investigation. During discussions with the former student, possible abuse of a current student came to light and Genesis immediately followed up with that student and their guardian. The actions reported did not take place on school grounds or during school hours. There were no other affected students identified during Genesis’ investigation
Based upon the results of the internal investigation, Henderson was terminated on June 24, 2024.
Genesis has and will continue to cooperate fully with DCS and has provided all information from their internal investigation to the DCS Special Investigator.
