NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Developers see opportunities in Nashville's Pie Town neighborhood.
City Now Next owner and founder Robert Looper III studies developments throughout Tennessee. He thinks that Pie Town's neighborhood culture has allowed for developers to think outside of the box.
"You have The Gulch on one side, you have SoBro on the other side, you're in the downtown core," Looper said. "Broadway is just a few streets over. It's just one of those places that, if you got there soon enough, you could really have a chance to create something spectacular."
One of the projects underway is Ryan Nashville, a 32-story residential high-rise. VeLa Development Partners is one of the developers behind the project.
"This has been a pretty lengthy process..." principal Nick Benjamin said. "We've known for a longtime that Nashville's a market where we want to build apartments."
Ryan Nashville would be located at the corner of Lafayette Street and Ewing Avenue. Benjamin said that they expect a completion date in 2027 and has hopes that an investment in Pie Town will pay off.
