NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Nashville authorities are investigating two separate shootings that occurred Thursday night, one of which was deadly.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), officers were sent to the Avana Overlook apartment complex in the 700 block of Bell Road just before 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10 for reports of a shooting.
Officials said a 25-year-old resident was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to be treated for critical injuries. At 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, police announced the man had died after arriving at the hospital, adding that a chaplain is working to find and notify his next of kin.
At this point in the investigation, authorities said they believe the victim was planning to sell marijuana to three individuals who came to the apartment. An argument over the price reportedly took place before shots were fired.

Then, around 11:15 p.m., officers responded to the the Edgehill area after a man was shot along 14th Avenue South.
Police said the man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Additional details about Thursday night's second shooting were not immediately released.
