NOLENSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Nolensville police are asking for your help finding two ATM bandits who tried to steal a cash machine earlier this week.

The attempted theft happened around 3:30 on Wednesday morning. Police said the suspects tried for several minutes to jack the ATM, but they failed.

Bank surveillance footage captured two suspects covered head to toe. They arrived in a silver or grey Ford F-150. The truck had Texas plates, but the numerals were covered by tape.

For several minutes the would-be thieves worked to pry open the machine and then hooked a chain to the cash machine.

The suspects pulled forward multiple times, eventually prying off an outer door, but they were never able to get to the safe inside. After a while, they left without the loot. By sunrise, the damage to the machine was evident.

Nolensville police worked the crime scene hoping to garner clues that can help solve the crime.

"We don't have crimes like this very often, so when we do, it's at the top of our list to solve and prevent," said Sgt. Josh Combs. "It's brazen, not a lot of traffic things stand out like that in the middle of the night."
