NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department is investigating a shooting in Antioch that led to a woman's death early Sunday morning.
The shooting was reported at an apartment in the 3900 block of Apache Trail shortly after 5 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27.
According to authorities, the woman -- tentatively identified as a 35-year-old Nashvillian -- was found with a gunshot wound to the chest. She was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she died.
MNPD said detectives from the Homicide Unit are working strong leads in the case, but no additional details have been released.

Another shooting was reported in Antioch just a few hours before the one on Apache Trail. Officials said a 29-year-old man was shot outside a home in the 4700 block of Terragon Trail shortly before 1:15 a.m. and is currently in "extremely critical condition" at TriStar Skyline Medical Center.
Police have not given any indication that these two Sunday morning shootings in Antioch are related.
