NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities are investigating a Monday morning shooting that left a man injured in the Woodbine area.

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said officers were sent to the 2500 block of Nolensville Pike just before 6 a.m. to respond to reports about a person who had been shot.

When officers arrived at the scene, they reportedly found a 39-year-old injured man standing in front of a hookah bar.

Police rendered aid to the victim and said they noticed a green Chevy Tahoe nearby, which had crashed into a building in the 400 block of Woodbine Street.

According to MNPD, a preliminary investigation indicates that the victim met with several individuals before he was shot. After the shooting, he reportedly entered his Tahoe and attempted to flee the area before crashing into the building.
