MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Mt. Juliet Police Department (MJPD) apprehended a Nashville man Monday after investigating him for allegedly stealing a donut.
In a Facebook post, the MJPD said that officers were called about a suspicious person on Monday afternoon when authorities were alerted to a man who had allegedly stolen a donut.
"Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the 44-year-old Nashville man was also in possession of large amount of suspected fentanyl intended for resale, as well as methamphetamine," the post reads, in part.
Police said that the man was taken into custody and booked into the Wilson County jail.
"This arrest is a reminder of how theft calls can lead to other crimes, where dangerous drugs are located and removed from our community," the post added.
