NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Florists in Bellevue woke up Saturday to discover their store had been vandalized.

The owners of Bellevue Florist said their security cameras show someone there around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16. The suspect was reportedly wearing dark clothes, including a hoodie.

The shop's owners are concerned about rising crime in the area, saying someone broke into their van and stole the battery back in September.

"Nowadays, I feel like it's been happening a lot more," said co-owner Emily McVay. "I feel like crime has definitely gone up a bit in Bellevue since, I mean, we're such a growing community, there's so many things happening. It's hard."

"Previously, we haven't had much damage like this before, so this is new," co-owner Sarah Noseworthy added.

Bellevue Florist's owners said the community has been very supportive, with people offering to power-wash the building and paint murals.
