NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Looking to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast with a picturesque view this year? Head to East Tennessee, home of one of the best Thanksgiving getaways in the country, according to a new rating.
Good Housekeeping, an American media lifestyle magazine, recently compiled a list naming the top "20 Beautiful Thanksgiving Destinations in the U.S."
Writers for the magazine said they selected stays in various locations ranging from hotels in bustling cities to countryside retreats.
Located at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in Walland, Tennessee, the magazine names Blackberry Farm as a "festive place to spend a long weekend at Thanksgiving."
According to the resort's website, Blackberry Farm is a luxurious, mountain haven resort that sits along 4,200 acres.
"Blackberry Farm is the perfect place to unwind, enjoy the great outdoors, and enjoy some classic Turkey Day traditions away from home. It offers a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner, along with a Turkey Trot, flag football, family bingo, and plenty of other activities to commemorate the occasion," wrote Good Housekeeping.
For days near the Thanksgiving holiday, guests are required to book a minimum of five nights. Nightly rates begin at $1,145, according to the resort.
The magazine named Twin Farms in Barnard, Vermont as the top Thanksgiving getaway. The five-star hotel will reportedly have a multi-course dinner prepared by a chef. Items on the menu include farm-raised turkeys, roasted vegetables sourced from the property's garden, and seasonal desserts.
