MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — Law enforcement in Murfreesboro are searching for at least four suspects who were involved in a "brazen" burglary that occurred earlier this month at a convenience store.
The Murfreesboro Police Department said the incident took place the 7-Eleven Exxon along South Church Street just after 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14.
According to officials, the four suspects used a stolen pickup truck to smash into the front glass of the store.
Surveillance video shows that after the pickup truck was backed into the window, one of the men tied a "guy wire" around the ATM. As seen on video, the truck's driver then accelerated forward, ripping the ATM off its foundation.
The men are then seen loading the ATM onto the pickup's bed and speeding away from the convenience store.
Authorities added the crime happened while the store was open with customers inside and others outside pumping gas.
Additionally, officials learned that the vehicle used in the crime -- a 2006 silver GMC Sierra pickup-- was stolen from a home along Veterans Parkway. The GMC was later found abandoned on Rutherford Boulevard. Detectives reported the damaged ATM was also found.
Before the theft occurred, police said the suspects were captured on surveillance video behind a church on Veterans Parkway. At some point, the stolen pickup, a stolen Chevy Suburban, a blue Dodge Charger, and a dark gray Infiniti SUV were all parked at the church.
Detectives reportedly found the Suburban, but are still searching for the Charger and Infiniti.
Anyone with information about the suspects or vehicles involved is asked to contact Detective Ed Gorham at 629-201-5507.
