The Storm Prediction Center has put our entire area under some sort of risk for severe storms Thursday. There is an enhanced risk (3/5) for Clarksville and areas north and west. A slight risk (2/5) is in effect for Nashville and areas north and west. A marginal risk (1/5) is in effect for areas south and east of Nashville.

During the day Thursday, we heat up to 88 degrees. The record high is 88 set back in 1955. This will add fuel to fire up storms especially at night.

Although damaging winds will be the biggest threat, all modes of severe weather are possible, including heavy rain, hail, and even an isolated tornado.

Although there could be a few storms late afternoon, the timing for the strong storms looks to start after dinner time and go into early Friday. Since this is a nighttime threat, you need to make sure you have a way to get the warnings.
