NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 33-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after multiple attacks against women in Nashville.
Metro police reported a woman called 911 for help on Aug. 21 after a man assaulted her at outside a East Nashville apartment complex. She told detectives the man grabbed her from behind and said "you are going to walk with me to my destination."
The victim tried to push the man away but he reportedly punched her in the face with a closed fist. She continued to fight back until the man, later identified as Deshawn Shurick, ran away.

Detectives used surveillance footage to identify Shurick as the suspect after he was seen on footage exiting a building at an apartment complex across the street from the victim's apartment, according to court documents. The victim was able to identify Shurick as her attacker in a photo lineup.
Officers were called to TriStar Skyline Medical Center on Oct. 22 to interview a woman who had been severely injured during an attempted rape.
The victim told officers she was in East Park on Woodland Street when Shurick approached her and asked for a lighter. According to court documents, Shurick began to punch and kick the victim while she screamed for help.
Shurick pulled off the victim's clothes and assaulted her, according to court documents. When he ran away, the victim noticed he left behind a "Clubtails Margarita" can.
Detectives were able to obtain a fingerprint matching Shurick's from the can and then used city surveillance footage to determine he was in the area of the park before and after the attack with the can.
Shurick was booked into the Metro jail and charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault, strangulation, kidnapping and rape. His bond was set at $192,000.
Shurick was named to the Metro’s Most Wanted fugitives list last week.
