PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Several Middle Tennessee cities have advised caution to drivers as weather has caused slick road conditions.
The Putnam County Emergency Management Agency posted to Facebook that Interstate 40 near Monterey is covered in ice in several areas.
"Some main roads and many side roads in the Monterey area have slick spots that appear occasionally and without warning," the post added. "Black ice is evident in some areas as well."

The agency advised caution for those driving Monday evening and Tuesday morning. The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) had also reported a multi-vehicle crash at mile marker 299 near Monterey in Putnam County.
That crash, reported at 8:42 p.m., closed all lanes of Interstate 40. Just before 11 p.m. on Monday, the interstate had reopened.
Putnam County is not the only place in Middle Tennessee where these conditions have taken effect, though. The Clarksville Police Department issued a statement stating that officers had responded to multiple motor vehicle crashes due to weather conditions.
Meriweather Road at Millington Drive and Warfield Boulevard over Wilma Rudolph Boulevard were specifically called out by the department. Police advised all motorists to take precautions when traveling, encouraging allowing additional time to arrive at their destinations.
