Nashville police investigate deadly shooting near Two Rivers

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — One person has died following a shooting near the Two Rivers neighborhood, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).

In a press release from the MNPD, the victim was identified as 48-year-old Uns Ali Hameed.

Police on the scene told News 2 the shooting happened around 6:45 p.m. Friday in the 3000 block of Penn Meade Way. Officers initially responded to a report of gunshots heard in the area.

Upon their arrival, Hameed was found lying unresponsive in the street outside of her residence. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses reportedly told police four gunshots were heard before a dark-colored sedan was seen leaving the scene. At the time, there is no information about any possible suspects.

Authorities are working with residents in the area to obtain surveillance camera footage.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
