NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department opened an investigation Monday night after a 17-year-old arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.
According to officials, the shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. in an alleyway off Lafayette Street. Investigators said about two dozen shell casings were recovered from the scene.

A 17-year-old who was shot in the backside arrived at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after the incident.
Officials stated the teen's injuries were not life-threatening, adding that he was in DCS custody and was supposed to be on a home visit.
The victim's stepdad allegedly told officers that he picked up the 17-year-old along Fairfield Avenue and noticed that he was limping, which the teen later admitted that he had been shot.
No information on a suspect was immediately released.
