NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man previously convicted of attempted second-degree murder is back in custody on more than a dozen warrants related to stalking the mother of his children for several months.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), Deshawn Williams, 31, is currently being held without bond on 19 outstanding warrants after he was located by Robbery Operations detectives in Hermitage. Authorities said Williams began accruing a series of domestic-related charges last fall after he began repeatedly stalking the mother of his children both at her home and through social media.
MNPD said last October, Williams went to the woman's South Nashville home, tore her doorbell off the frame and threw heavy objects at her window that broke the glass while their three children were inside.
Throughout the fall, while he had outstanding warrants, MNPD said Williams would frequently return to the woman's home causing damage to her windows, doors and garage while attempting to gain entry. These repeated attempts reportedly caused the victim to move to another residence, while authorities continued to attempt to bring him into custody.
Williams even fled from officers in North Nashville on Nov. 8, 2024, according to MNPD.
Once the victim moved, Metro police said Williams began sending threatening text and Facebook messages to her. On Dec. 30, 2024, police said the victim was made aware of a video posted to the same Facebook account that had been sending her the threatening messages. In the video, Williams is seen standing over the victim's deceased brother's grave, urinating on it and pouring alcohol over it while talking to him about the victim.
Williams was taken into custody in the Hermitage area by detectives Thursday morning. He was booked on outstanding warrants for aggravated child endangerment, aggravated stalking, aggravated criminal trespassing, desecration of a place or worship or burial, felony vandalism and especially aggravated stalking, among other charges, according to police.
MNPD said Williams was previously convicted of attempted second-degree murder in 2010 and sentenced to eight years.
