Dangerous cold after snowfall across Middle TN

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) —  The winter storm that brought 1-5 inches of snow to the Middle Tennessee region has also brought another round of extreme cold temperatures. The worst of the cold will be Thursday and Friday mornings.

With the precipitation from this snow event, refreezing of moisture will be expected the next few days as temperatures stay below freezing until Saturday. Expect slick spots to be a concern in many areas.

More importantly, the dangerous cold will be of top concern. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for all of Middle TN and Southern KY through 10 a.m. Thursday, and an Extreme Cold Warning for Benton, Carroll, and Decatur counties. Wind chill values (feels like temperatures) will be below zero on Thursday morning!

Here's a look at Thursday morning low temperatures & the feels like temperature. Expect clouds to remain with the wind holding up north 10-15 mph. This is extremely cold feels like temperatures.

On Friday morning, a clear sky will make temperatures even colder. Air temperatures drop into the single digits for many areas. A light to calm wind from the northwest.

Temperatures are below freezing for most areas until Saturday afternoon when high temperatures rise to the lower 40s. Next week, we're on the way to 50s and 60s!
