MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) -- A man is facing multiple charges after he was seen driving over 100 mph along the interstate, which, in the words of Mt. Juliet authorities, is "an especially bad idea if you’re already wanted, driving on a suspended license and have forged a fake temporary tag."
According to the Mt. Juliet Police Department, an officer was checking road conditions on Thursday, Feb. 20 and spotted a 22-year-old Lebanon man speeding past at 100 mph. Rather than slowing down, the driver reportedly pushed it to almost 120 mph.
Officials said a traffic stop quickly revealed additional issues, including an active failure to appear warrant in Wilson County for a prior drug charge. The man was arrested for his warrant, as well as reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, and forgery of a license plate.
No additional details have been released about Thursday morning's incident, including how law enforcement performed the traffic stop on the speeding car or the identity of the man who was taken into custody.
