RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Authorities are trying to track down a man who is wanted in connection with the shooting of a young boy in Rutherford County while out on bond for attempted murder in Smyrna.

According to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, 19-year-old Taliek Gallishaw-King is facing charges for evidence tampering and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon in relation to the shooting involving the child on Saturday, Feb. 22.

Officials said deputies found a 4-year-old boy with a gunshot wound early Saturday morning at a home along Tessa Grace Road. The child was brought to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive.

“Investigators on-scene determined Taliek Gallishaw King fled the scene in an unknown vehicle shortly before law enforcement’s arrival and took the handgun used in the shooting with him,” Detective Jesse Gammel said in a statement released Saturday afternoon. “Investigators have yet to locate Taliek Gallishaw King and are asking for the public’s assistance in locating him.”

The sheriff's office originally reported Gallishaw-King was also wanted for attempted first-degree murder from an unrelated case in Smyrna. However, authorities later released a correction saying he was previously arrested for attempted murder in Smyrna and is out on bond for that charge. No additional details were provided about that case.

“He is presumed armed and dangerous,” Gammel said.
