NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The month of March will start with a bang as the potential of strong to severe storms returns to the forecast next week. There is still a lot of uncertainties regarding this severe risk, but we want you to be prepared for the threats.
For Tuesday 6 a.m. to Wednesday 6 a.m., the Storm Prediction Center has most of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky in the 15% risk for severe storms, and there is a 30% risk for our western Middle Tennessee counties near the Tennessee River.


The current time frame for severe weather will be from 6 p.m. Tuesday to about 9 a.m. Wednesday. Future Tracker shows area showers and storms possible during the day, with the best chance of widespread rain and strong storms likely Tuesday evening through early Wednesday morning. This will be an overnight threat.
All modes of severe weather are possible including heavy rain, damaging winds, hail, and even isolated tornadoes. As we get more model data, we will have a better look at the threats.
