NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — It's been more than four months since Joshua Burns was shot outside of a Halloween party in Antioch. Now, a reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for any information leading to an arrest in connection to his murder.
The shooting happened at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024, in the 4700 block of Terragon Trail. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), Burns is believed to be the "unintended target" of a drive-by shooting.
Burns was reportedly shot in the head and was taken to Skyline Medical Center, where he died days later as a result of his injuries. He was 29 years old.
"They took somebody really valuable to this family," Burns' mother, Adra Glenn, told News 2. "They really hurt us. They hurt us, but I'm going to continue to pray for him — or them — and their family because we're going to get justice."
On March 3, the police department announced that the family was offering a $5,000 reward for any additional information regarding Burns' murder. Glenn told News 2 she plans on giving back to animal shelters and creating a scholarship for arts students as Burns had a passion for both animals and the arts.
Additionally, Glenn hopes the younger generation will be the one to end gun violence.
"I don't think children nowadays really understand the decision that they make," Glenn added. "It doesn't just affect them; it trickles down to the whole family."
The family's reward is in addition to another $5,000 reward, which is offered to those who call Crime Stoppers. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7462. Callers can remain anonymous.
