NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Tuesday's significant wind impacted Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky, causing damage and power outages. The wind will continue, and with colder air coming in with leftover precipitation, snow is in the forecast. Up to two inches are possible in eastern areas.
Rain changing to snow
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Cumberland, Fentress, Grundy, Overton, Putnam, Pickett, Van Buren, Warren, and White counties.
Today, showers will continue at times with colder air moving in. As the wind turns to the west and northwest, temperatures are dropping into the 40s and 30s. Tonight, another push of moisture comes out of Kentucky to the eastern counties. With temperatures below freezing and the higher terrain, snow will start and accumulate. This will also impact the roadways.
Snow amounts could range from 1 inch to 3 inches for far eastern higher terrain areas.
The snow that falls on Wednesday evening into early Thursday should melt by Thursday afternoon as temperatures climb back to the 40s.
