An investigation into 48-year-old Jesse Stinson began after Yahoo reportedly became aware of child sexual abuse material being sent on its platform, the MNPD said in a press release. When Yahoo became aware of the CSAM, the platform reported the material to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Stinson admitted in an interview with MNPD detectives that two email accounts involved in the investigation were his and he acknowledged both sending and receiving images of child sexual exploitation material.
A spokesperson for the MNPD confirmed Stinson is a Metro employee.
The MNPD said computer equipment and storage devices were seized from Stinson's home Tuesday pursuant to a search warrant; additional charges are anticipated.
A judicial commissioner set Stinson's bond at $6,000. News 2 has reached out to Metro for comment and more information about Stinson's employment status with the city.
