NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Stay alert today for the potential of severe storms in our region on Wednesday evening and night. Also, a Wind Advisory is in effect for Wednesday with high gusts expected.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Marginal Risk (level 1 out of 5) for severe weather over most of our area.

This level 1 risk is on the lowest end of the severe weather scale, but any risk for severe weather needs to be taken seriously. All modes of severe weather will be possible.

The risk for flooding will be low this time around because these storms will produce little moisture. The risk of hail and damaging wind gusts is also low.
The latest forecast data shows the line of thunderstorms getting here late in the day on Wednesday. This means you need to be weather alert on Wednesday evening. Stay tuned for updates!

Gusts on Wednesday will increase above 40 mph by midday and afternoon. Some gusts may approach 50 mph in northwest areas. Wednesday will be a day to secure loose items outside and use caution on west to east roads with high-profile vehicles.
On Thursday, temperatures fall into the 40s for highs with additional precipitation that may be with a rain and snow mixture. However, no wintry accumulation is expected.
