"Threads: My Songs in Symphony" featured hits spanning Parton's decades-long career, including "Jolene," "Coat of Many Colors" and "I Will Always Love You." The one-night-only event in Nashville was conducted by Enrico Lopez-Yañez and featured guest musicians and vocalists personally selected by Parton herself.

"I just thought it would be wonderful to hear some of the songs that I've written through the years done up in such fine fashion," Parton said.

President and CEO of the Nashville Symphony, Alan Valentine, called the concert "an incredible moment," adding that it's been a long time in the making.

"We do a lot of collaborations with Music City artists — we're kind of not your grandmother's orchestra," Valentine added. "...Dolly is one of the most beloved figures in our city and one of the most incredible songwriters in any genre, for that matter."

Orchestras across the U.S. will perform the symphonic concert and its next stop will be Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 17. The concert will return to the Schermerhorn Symphony Center March 18-20, 2026. Follow this link for more information about the tour.
