NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man wanted for shooting into an East Nashville home has been taken into custody.
Metro police shared video earlier this week of a shooter who fired shots into an apartment complex on Litton Avenue.
According to police, the man first approached an apartment in the 1100 block of Litton Avenue on Feb. 14 and sat on the porch for nearly an hour before leaving.
Days later, on Feb. 19, the man reportedly returned to the apartment and spoke to the residents through a home security system, telling them that his name was Nasan and that he was the father of a child who was at the apartment.
Officials said neither of the residents knew him or what he was talking about. After leaving the property, police said the man returned approximately 30 minutes later and fired at least nine rounds into the apartment, causing damage to the door and three windows.
The residents inside the apartment—identified as a 43-year-old woman and 50-year-old man—were not injured.
Detectives have identified the shooter as 29-year-old Edwin Damas. He was booked into the Metro jail and charged with felony aggravated assault and theft of a firearm. His bond was set at $40,000
