MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) -- An 18-year-old from Nashville who was on bond for his involvement in a pool party shooting last summer is now facing multiple charges following "a dangerous and intentional attempt to intimidate and harm Mt. Juliet Police officers" Sunday, according to law enforcement.
On Sunday, March 30, the Mt. Juliet Police Department said the man deliberately drove his vehicle toward an officer who was conducting an unrelated traffic stop.
That afternoon incident led to two separate vehicle pursuits where the suspect drove recklessly through the community, "intentionally targeting officers and police vehicles in an apparent effort to cause harm," authorities said.
The same vehicle was actually involved in a "similar, purposeful confrontation with MJPD officers" on Monday, March 17, but nobody was apprehended, officials said.
MJPD said the Metro Nashville Police Department’s Aviation Unit offered critical support by safely tracking the suspect from the sky, allowing Mt. Juliet officers to disengage from active pursuit. An MNPD spike system on Clarksville Highway near Old Hickory Boulevard ultimately disabled the suspect’s vehicle, so law enforcement took him into custody without further incident.

Officials initially described the suspect as a 19-year-old Nashville man but later identified him as 18-year-old Sujoy P. Guha-Perry. At the time of his arrest Sunday, he was reportedly wearing a GPS ankle monitor while out on bond for a July 2024 shooting at an Antioch apartment complex pool party where a 16-year-old girl was seriously injured.
According to MNPD, on July 11, 2024, Guha-Perry drove 18-year-old Davin Denson Jr. to Cambridge at Hickory Hollow Apartments, where Denson exited the vehicle and began shooting toward a group of people attending the party. Guha-Perry was arrested in November for five counts of felony aggravated assault and one count of reckless endangerment, but Denson had been in jail since October after he allegedly shot his girlfriend during an argument over her pregnancy.
Shortly before 10:30 p.m., MJPD announced Guha-Perry had been booked into the Wilson County Jail and charged with criminal attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault on a first responder, felony evading, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving.
"We are incredibly thankful that no officers were injured during these multiple, intentional attempts to cause harm. Our gratitude extends to MNPD for their rapid assistance as we continue to work together to keep our communities safe," MJPD wrote on Facebook.
