CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) - A mother and her live-in boyfriend were arrested Monday morning in connection with the death of their 14-month-old daughter.
Authorities said on Sunday, June 2, special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) joined deputies with the Carroll County Sheriff's Office in an investigation regarding a report that a toddler was taken to a local hospital with severe injuries.
The toddler, identified as Shiloh Durrance, was then taken to a Nashville hospital. She died from her injuries on Monday, June 3, according to investigators.
On Monday, TBI agents said they arrested the toddler's mother, 18-year-old Sara Durrance, and her live-in boyfriend, 20-year-old Zachary Gray, both of Hollow Rock, in connection with Shiloh's death.
Durrance has been charged with one count of aggravated child abuse and neglect, while Gray was charged with one count of aggravated child abuse and neglect, as well as one count of criminal homicide.
Both were booked into the Carroll County Jail. Durrance is being held on a $100,000 bond and Gray is being held without bond.
