NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A wanted woman escaped a Nashville hospital after being discharged, only to be found hiding in a vehicle in the hospital’s parking lot shortly after, officials said.
Police said they were sent to Southern Hills Hospital on Sunday, June 9, for a woman wanted on outstanding warrants.
According to court documents, when the woman was getting discharged, she attempted to run away from the hospital but was stopped by security at the door.
While being escorted back to her hospital bed, officials said the woman -- identified as 22-year-old Felisha Whitefield -- ran away again and made it outside of the hospital into the parking lot.

Authorities said officers searched the parking lot and later found Whitefield hiding in an unlocked vehicle, which did not belong to her. She was reportedly crouched down in the passenger seat in an attempt to conceal herself from officers.

According to an arrest report, Whitefield continued to resist arrest while she was getting placed back into custody.
Whitefield was charged with escape of a penal institution, theft of identity, burglary of a motor vehicle, and resisting arrest.
She remains jailed on a $58,000 bond.
