NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Thousands of people are without power around Davidson County after stormy weather rolled through Sunday.
According to Nashville Electric Service (NES), a total of 2,583 customers are without power due to 225 active events across the company's coverage area as of 11:01 p.m. on Sunday, June 16.
At one point, NES' outage map showed more than 12,000 people were impacted by outages, with at least three outages each affecting more than 1,000 people. However, by 9:15 p.m., all of the outages impacted less than 1,000 people each.
"Several pop-up storms in the area have caused roughly 8,000 customers to lose power. NES crews will work as quickly and safely as possible to restore power for all impacted customers," the company posted on Facebook shortly before 5 p.m. "Be sure to report your outage as soon as possible. Should you come across a downed power line, stay away and call 9-1-1."
Just before 9:30 p.m., NES announced that its crews were still repairing repairs to electrical equipment damaged by the multiple rounds of pop-up storms, saying, "Restoration efforts will not stop until all customers are back on."
