CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Authorities investigated a possible explosive device that was found inside of a vehicle picked up from a Clarksville scrap yard Wednesday morning.
According to the Clarksville Police Department, a 911 call came in at approximately 9:07 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19 about a small black bag with what appeared to be a fuse coming out of it inside a vehicle the caller had just picked up from KP Auto Sales in the 1300 block of Fort Campbell Boulevard.

Just after 10:30 a.m., officials announced Avalon Street was shut down between Fort Campbell Boulevard and Sevier Street. Community members were asked to avoid the area until the scene was safe.
Police said the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad was notified and responded to the incident. Members of Clarksville Fire Rescue and Montgomery County EMS were also called to the scene.
At 1:30 p.m., authorities reported Avalon Street was back open, adding that the bomb squad "conducted render-safe procedures so the device is no longer a threat."
