CENTERVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Centerville United Methodist Church caught fire Monday afternoon.

At 2:55 p.m., an emergency communication was sent out for Hickman County stating that the area of College Avenue and Huddleston Street was closed due to a fire. The post added that multiple agencies were on the scene.
The official Facebook page for Centerville United Methodist Church, which is located in that area in downtown Centerville, uploaded a photo of what appeared to be firefighters responding to a fire at the church.

State Representative Jody Barrett also posted what appeared to be images of the blaze, asking followers to "send up a prayer for the first responders and parishioners" in the area.
In a follow-up Facebook post, the church told parishioners not to come to the site until the investigation was finished. They added that they would keep the community updated as they received more information.
