NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) - A man wanted for an armed carjacking at a South Nashville McDonald's has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies.
The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said 23-year-old Ontario Graham of Dew Street has been charged with attempted murder, carjacking, attempted carjacking, aggravated assault, and multiple gun crimes for his actions during a carjacking on April 17.
According to police, just after 10:30 p.m. that night, Graham is believed to have approached a 41-year-old man who was in the drive thru line at the McDonald's located in the 2200 block of Nolensville Pike. Graham, who was armed with a gun, approached the man on the driver's side of his vehicle and tried to carjack him.
As the man tried to drive away, he was shot in the face. He then circled the parking lot three times and saw Graham confront a 39-year-old woman in her Nissan Cube parked in the McDonald's parking lot, prompting him to drive his vehicle at Graham in order to try and save the woman, according to investigators.
Police said the man's vehicle crashed into the Cube, causing significant damage to the driver's side door. Graham, meanwhile, was knocked off his feet, got up, and pulled the woman out of the Cube. He then got into the woman's Cube and drove off.
The woman was not injured, while the man was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. Investigators said the Cube was recovered the following day on Louise Drive.
On Wednesday, June 26, officers with the MNPD's East Precinct were sent to the area of South 6th Street and Shelby Avenue for reports of a person, identified as Graham, riding a stolen electric bicycle. Graham tried to get away, but was quickly arrested.
