Beloved K-9 officer that served multiple counties in Middle Tennessee has died

HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A beloved K-9 officer that served Henry, Benton and Obion counties has died, according to his handler.

Corporal Stacey Bostwick with the Henry County Sheriff's Office shared that Rowdy died of cancer on Tuesday, July 2. The beloved K-9 was 12 years old.

"Rowdy has been there when needed to find the missing and worked hard to find the bad guys," Bostwick said. "Rowdy will always be my hero and be missed greatly."

The Obion County Sheriff's Office posted a tribute to Rowdy on Facebook, adding that "he hunted down bad guys like no other."

Rowdy was a previous foster at Howard's Hounds Bloodhound Rescue, which also posted a tribute to the K-9.

The bloodhound has been featured on News 2 several times over the course of his tenure.
