LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. (WKRN) -- A toddler is reportedly in critical condition at a Middle Tennessee hospital after first responders discovered her in a body of water in Southern Kentucky Wednesday.

The preliminary reports indicated the child may have wandered off into a surrounding cornfield, so Logan County deputies and Russellville officers immediately started searching the cornfields in the area, according to officials. Meanwhile, members of Logan County Search and Rescue and Logan County Emergency Management, along with other first responders and neighbors, explored the surrounding area.
Authorities said the girl was found unresponsive in a small body of water, so law enforcement and EMS personnel immediately began performing CPR. Then, the child was rushed to Med Center Health in Russellville, where emergency room employees stabilized her before she was flown to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in critical condition.
The sheriff's office said it will be working with Child Protective Services to investigate this incident, but no information regarding the identity of anyone involved in the case will be released at this time.
"We ask that you please respect the privacy of all involved families...We ask that everyone take a moment to please remember all involved and pray for a good outcome," Logan County officials wrote on Facebook.
