WHITE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is investigating a deadly shooting in White County Thursday night.
The TBI said in a press release that preliminary evidence indicated that the incident happened just after 3 p.m. in a home on Olen Road when deputies with the White County Sheriff's Office followed up on an earlier disturbance call.
The subject, identified by the TBI as 40-year-old James John Fox, left his home and fired a rifle at deputies. Deputies then fired back, killing Fox.
"TBI agents are working to independently determine the series of events leading to the shooting, including collecting evidence and conducting interviews," the release said. "Investigative findings will be shared with the District Attorney General for further review and consideration."
