Homicide investigation underway after 2 shot outside Clarksville lounge

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Detectives have launched a homicide investigation following a shooting outside a Clarksville lounge Sunday night.

According to the Clarksville Police Department, a 911 call was made at approximately 11:18 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, about a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of Lyrics Lounge, which is located in the 1300 block of Fort Campbell Blvd.

Authorities reported officers arrived to the scene a minute after the call was made and spoke to a witness who allegedly told them that those involved fled north on Fort Campbell Blvd.

Shortly after, officials were alerted that two men had arrived at Tennova Healthcare's emergency room suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were reportedly flown to Nashville to be treated for their injuries.

Clarksville police said one of the victims was pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His identity will not be revealed until officers can verify that the family was notified, police said.

Meanwhile, officials said the condition of the second victim remains unknown. Additional details about the shooting was not immediately released.
