NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A short pursuit led to the arrest of one of Nashville's "Most Wanted" fugitives late Monday night.
Tyrone Walker, now 30 years old, was wanted by Metro Nashville police after being named in a grand jury indictment charging him with first-degree murder last year.
According to authorities, the charge is related to the August 2021 shooting death of Cecil Holmes Jr. The 39-year-old was reportedly found dead in the Edgehill Homes parking lot on 11th Avenue South after being shot multiple times.
After further investigation into Holmes' death, officials said they were able to identify Walker as the suspected gunman. He was added to the police department's list of "Top 10 Most Wanted" fugitives in July 2023 and has appeared on the list multiple times since.

On Monday, Aug. 12, detectives said they were finally able to track him down. Walker was reportedly spotted standing outside of an apartment complex on Edgehill Avenue. He was then seen getting into the back seat of a Silver Lincoln Navigator.
When detectives tried to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle, the driver sped off, according to an arrest affidavit. Only a few minutes passed before Walker reportedly got out of the car and started running. While trying to get away, police said Walker dropped a firearm.
The officers who ran after him were able to take Walker into custody. While detained, police said they found three grams of cocaine and 24 grams of marijuana in Walker's possession.
In addition to the murder charge, Walker has also been indicted on charges of felon in possession of a weapon, felony probation violation and four counts of failure to appear.
He was booked into jail late Monday night for those charges, as well as two counts of possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest and another charge for felon in possession of a weapon.
Jail records show his bond was set at $50,000. Walker is now among at least 127 "Most Wanted" fugitives who have been taken into custody since the program was launched in October 2022.
Investigators have largely attributed the program's success to tips they've received from the public. To view the most recent list of the "Top 10 Most Wanted" fugitives out of Nashville, click here.
