SPRING HILL, Tenn. (WKRN) — A brief standoff at a Spring Hill home Sunday ended with a man being taken into custody for attempted homicide.
Officers with the Spring Hill Police Department were dispatched to a home on Via Fransecso Way around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, after receiving a call regarding a disturbance at the residence.
Further investigation revealed that a fight had taken place between a man and woman inside the home, police said. The situation escalated after the man reportedly fired a gun near the woman. Officials said the woman was able to flee the home and call 911.
Upon arrival, officers set up a perimeter around the house and began calling for the man to come out. The man eventually surrendered himself after what authorities called a "brief standoff."
Police did not state whether anyone else was inside the home. However, no injuries were reported.
The male suspect was arrested and charged with attempted criminal homicide and two counts of reckless endangerment. The police department has not yet released his name.
