2 people die at separate hospitals following Old Hickory shooting, police say

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Two people are dead after an early morning shooting in the Lakewood neighborhood of Old Hickory, according to law enforcement.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said the incident was reported in the 100 block of Fields Drive around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1.

Witnesses told officers an unknown male suspect and the victim were arguing before the suspect allegedly pulled out a pistol and shot the victim. According to police, the suspects left the scene in a sedan and a pickup truck.

Authorities said the victim was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.

Officials told News 2 there was also a walk-in patient at TriStar Summit Medical Center who had been shot during the Fields Drive incident and died at the hospital.

No additional details have been released about this shooting, which marks at least the third deadly shooting of the weekend in Nashville, including one along Hallborough Way on Saturday, Aug. 31 that killed a 16-year-old boy and one on Patricia Drive earlier Sunday morning that killed a 37-year-old man.
